In order to make your planning easier, we have divided travel information between the east and west of the Tarkine (see map).
To discover the East of the Tarkine, including the Savage River National Park, the South Arthur Forest Drive, and the Hellyer Gorge State Reserve, and to book your stay at Waratah or Tullah, click here.

To explore the West, from the mouth of the Arthur River along the spectacular coast to the mouth of the Pieman River, or to book your stay at Corinna and kayak through the rainforest along the Pieman River click here.
We hope that this guide helps you to discover the majesty of the Tarkine Wilderness. For further information, or any other inquiries, please contact us via tarkineassociationvictoria@gmail.com or visit our Facebook page.

Explore the east of the tarkine

The eastern part of the Tarkine is dominated by temperate rainforest, interspersed with dry woodland, heathland and button grass plains.

Tarkine Trails provides two rainforest walks in this area, and there are a number of public, easy-access short walks such as Philosophers Falls.
