DAY OF ACTION: CALL AND WRITE TO YOUR PM
MELBOURNE, Clifton Hill
Tuesday 4th June
On Tuesday June 4th, Tarkine Association Victoria are hosting a day of action, during which we shall call and write to influential members of parliament in regards to the Tarkine, and Australian RFA Agreements more broadly. We have chosen this date as it is a few weeks after the election and will be a good time to inquire about the incumbent government's stance on the protection of the Tarkine, and other sites under the RFA Agreement (such as areas contained within the proposal for the Great Forest National Park, and areas of Gippsland and East Gippsland). In addition, we hope that by gathering as a large group, we can send a clear message to our politicians as to the growing number of Australians concerned about our natural environments, and their role in our future climate, economy, the continuation of indigenous heritage sites, and water resources.
Please bring along a note pad, pen, a mobile phone, and a laptop if you have one.
Please email tarkineassociationvictoria@gmail.com to express your interest and to receive further details about this event.
WANT TO RUN YOUR OWN EVENT, BUT NEED SOME HELP?
If you are interested in running a house concert, or you've had an idea for another type of event, please contact TAV on tarkineassociationvictoria@gmail.com
We'd love to help you to run a Tarkine fundraiser or information evening!

BOB BROWN FOUNDATION TARKINE EVENT
MELBOURNE
DECEMBER 5, 2015
On Saturday the 5th of December, we joined the Bob Brown Foundation for an incredible Tarkine event at the Deakin Edge, Federation Square.
As well as Bob himself and the lovely Corinne Grant, we were joined by the amazing muka nawnta Tasmanian Aboriginal singers. This combined with the gorgeous imagery of the Tarkine in Motion and the Tarkine Bioblitz videos was inspiring.
This was a truly fantastic event, and we were very excited to work so closely with the BBF for such an important cause.

Tarkine concert
Northcote, Melbourne
september 10, 2015
On the 10th of September, 2015, Tarkine Association Victoria put on a concert at the Northcote Uniting Church Hall.
It was an amazing night - with fantastic performers, scrumptious hot beverages, lots of cake, and great people!
We were joined by Jane McArthur, a Tasmanian singer-songwriter, who lulled us all into a Tarkine trance with her beautiful melodies and accompaniment. Can't wait to see another of her gigs! See her Facebook page and website here.
We were also joined by Mairead Hurley, Ado Barker and Joe Ferguson. Mairead, Ado and Joe are some of Australia's and Ireland's top Traditional Irish musicians, and were so excited that they agreed to play for us.
Many took this change to become a TAV member, to meet others who are interested to know more about the Tarkine, or just had a relaxed Thursday night listening to some amazing music.
Thank you so much to all who came - we had a ripper right!
